The orchestra was established in 2024 by outstanding yangqin players in Hong Kong, all of whom graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. The orchestra adheres to the core purpose of "continuing the Chinese music culture and promoting the essence of yangqin art", and systematically promotes the research of yangqin art theory, innovation of performance techniques and expansion of artistic expression forms through professional and international development paths; and uses yangqin as an important carrier of Chinese art, building a cross-regional and cross-cultural art exchange platform, and fully demonstrating the diverse artistic value and profound cultural heritage of yangqin as a world-class national musical instrument.
